Don’t Gamble on Vegas Without Worldwide Travel Insurance

November 22, 2025

Viva Las Vegas! Europesure’s French travel insurance customers, and British expats living in France, now have the new option of a Paris-departing, Air France, non-stop flight to Nevada’s most famous city. With hotel occupancy tumbling in Vegas, now could be the right time to try to seek out a bargain, as hotels lower room rates.  So why consider using your worldwide travel insurance protection for a holiday in ‘Sin City’?

Basically, Las Vegas supersizes and jazzes up every mortal thing, so it’s a real bucket-list place to visit.  To say you’ve been there, done that and got the T-shirt has some kudos.  But the USA also supersizes medical bills – the reason you really do need your travel insurance policy.

Of course, you might be lucky enough to be heading to Vegas for a special event, such as the forthcoming Formula 1 race, on November 22.  Or a NASCAR weekend?  Maybe you’re travelling for a stag trip, or to say your vows in one of its famous wedding chapels?

With a worldwide travel insurance policy in your pocket, you can explore The Strip’s attractions of with confidence and acquire memories aplenty. Let’s take a look at all that’s on offer.

Walking the Strip

This is the very simplest thing to do in Las Vegas but an absolute must.  You can easily move between hotels, soaking up the unique things to do and the wow factor each one offers. Simultaneously, you can capture the vibe on The Strip itself and the wholly unique Vegas ambience.  Do this by night and you can be bedazzled by neon, which creates a lightshow like no other.

If you don’t wish to walk The Strip, simply navigate it via the Las Vegas monorail.  With stops at key locations such as Sahara, Flamingo/Caesar’s Palace, Paris and MGM, you can easily hop off and on.

Attractions at the Hotels

It’s hard not to get the impression that life in La Vegas is all about one-upmanship.  That’s certainly the approach its famous hotels have taken, resulting in so many spectacular things to see.

Some of the most mesmerising are undoubtedly the iconic Fountains of Bellagio at the Bellagio Resort-Casino.  More than a thousand fountains, situated in front of the hotel, leap up to 460 feet in the air, across a 1000-foot span.  Furthermore, they do this to music, whether that’s Lady Gaga or the odd tune from Bruno Mars.  They rightly lay claim to being the most ambitious water fountain feature ever created, so are a must-see if you are using your worldwide travel insurance to support a trip to Vegas.

At Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, Europesure’s travel insurance customers in France will feel right at home.  That’s thanks to a half-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower, 46 storeys high, with an observation deck for those wanting to snap Sin City from a height.

An absolutely essential stop-off is the lobby at Caesar’s Palace, which will transport you straight back to the days of the Roman Empire.

If you want to discover an oasis of nature in the heart of the desert, head to the Flamingo Hotel and Casino.  Four acres of flamingos and other exotic birds, turtles and fish await.  Want something that may seem a little unusual in this setting?  Then how about the medieval Tournament of Kings Show at the Excalibur resort.  A little jousting might be just the ticket.

Thrill-seekers will probably disagree but they can quickly head to the Big Apple Coaster at New York-New York, if they can take their eyes off the resort’s replicas of Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty.  Having checked the coaster out, they can dart off to ride the High Roller observation wheel at LINQ Hotel and Casino.

Other highlights to check out in Las Vegas

The list of other things you ought to see starts with the world-famous ‘Welcome to Las Vegas’ sign, on Las Vegas Boulevard South.  This has stood here since 1959 and seems to feature on everyone’s itinerary, judging by the queues of people wanting to be photographed with it.

Seeking out the wedding chapels at which your favourite celebs tied the knot is probably another must and, if you fancy yourself a pinball wizard, the Pinball Hall of Fame will open up the world’s biggest pinball machine collection for you.

Head to Planet Hollywood and the Tipsy Robot bar and a robot will mix your choice of cocktail from over 100 drink options.  At the FI Arcade at Caesar’s Palace, there are no fewer than 87 simulators to keep you amused, not to mention circuits on the ceiling.

If you want to achieve even greater heights than afforded by the Paris Resort Eiffel Tower, head to the STRAT Tower observation deck. As you might expect, given that it’s in Vegas, it is the USA’s tallest observation tower, standing at 1149 feet.  It will provide fantastic views across Las Vegas and the surrounding mountains.

Then there’s the largest video screen in the world, at the Fremont Street pedestrian mall, where five blocks of leisure facilities are housed under a canopy of LED displays.  Vegas likes its superlatives and so it’s no surprise that the Excalibur Hotel and Casino has a world-famous arcade that’s home to the world’s biggest Pacman.

Blowing your mind in Vegas

If there’s anywhere that will completely blow your mind, it has to be Vegas.  The groundbreaking entertainment venue, Sphere, offers an incredible sensory experience, incorporating interactive robots and state-of-the-art systems.  Externally, over 1.2 million LEDs are hard at work projecting incredible light displays across the city.  And it hosts concerts too.  Eagles fans should make a note of early 2026 dates at this awe-inspiring venue.

Until March 31, 2026, you can head off down the Yellow Brick Road at Sphere.  A multisensory experience allows you to travel alongside characters from the Wizard of Oz, not to mention being hit in the face by high-speed winds, navigating fog and dealing with fire.

Rather go into space?  At the Insterstellar Arc at AREA15, you can don your VR headset and enter an epic space adventure.  Incorporating footage from both NASA and the International Space Station, this one-off experience catapults you 262 years into the future and off to the orbiting city of Cosmopolis.  What else happens on the virtual starship is for you to discover.

Entertainment options to enjoy with your worldwide travel insurance

Think of Vegas and you think of glitz, glamour, the rat pack and entertainment and there is a host of that.  You could check out Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil, where his discography is fused with acrobatics and dance.  Cirque du Soleil run several other shows too.

Maybe the synchronised swim show, O, at Bellagio would be a unique experience, or perhaps RuPaul’s Drag Race Live at Flamingo Las Vegas is more up your street.  David Copperfield’s magic show at MGM Grand Hotel and Casino is a huge pull, as is LINQ’s Mat Franco show.

2026 sees some big names headlining in Vegas: Leona Lewis, Barry Manilow, Cyndi Lauper, Santana, Rod Stewart, Jennifer Lopez and Back Street Boys amongst them.

But perhaps what you really want to snap is one of the 13 new figures of Taylor Swift, launched by Madame Tussauds to celebrate her Eras Tour.  In Vegas, she wears her gold-fringed Roberto Cavalli mini-dress and Christian Louboutin knee-high boots.  She shares her waxworks paradise in Vegas with massive names, including Rihanna, Kourtney Kardashian and Miley Cyrus on her wrecking ball.  Madame Tussauds Vegas is at The Venetian Resort, where, whilst visiting, you can also enjoy a gondola ride on a specially created ‘Grand Canal’ – which pays homage to the real one in Venice.

Indulge all of your senses

Don’t forget to indulge the taste buds in Vegas, by first heading to Hershey’s Chocolate World, which celebrates 800 Hershey’s chocolates and candies. Furthermore, it’s where you will see the Statue of Liberty made out of milk chocolate! Just across the road is a four-storey temple to M&Ms.  Head inside this store and you can print your own personalised treats.

You could also set your heart on a romantic picnic in the desert, or check out the acclaimed dim sum at Rainbow Kitchen on South Rainbow Boulevard.  Superb steaks melt in the mouth at Gallaghers Steakhouse or Herbs & Rye. If with the kids, making a beeline for the Rainforest Cafe, with its lively animatronics, may be the number one choice.

Daredevil adventures and your travel insurance policy

There’s a touch of the daredevil about much of what goes on around Las Vegas.  Do check the terms of your worldwide travel insurance policy before you take part in anything beyond the norm!  That might be driving the Ferraris and Lamborghinis at Speed Vegas, or enjoying a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon.

There’s outdoor machine gun and rifle shooting, ATV rides in the desert and Buggy Chase adventures, not to mention a Sky Jump off the STRAT building, on offer. As we said, Vegas goes big on everything but, if taking part in it, do make sure the small print of your travel insurance would not exclude any claims that could potentially arise.  Check out both the activity and any special terms attached to it, such as the need for supervision, protective wear and headgear and degree of difficulty involved.

Staying safe

Be cautious in Las Vegas by night, particularly in some areas around Fremont Street, Boulder Highway and neighbourhoods north of Charleston Boulevard. Keep your valuables back in a hotel safe, if you can, and do not flash expensive gadgets around.  Stay in well-lit tourist areas or close to your hotel complex.

The other big risk is that of incurring huge medical bills, if you require treatment or care during your trip or have to be evacuated to another hospital or facility.  Make sure you pack your Europesure worldwide travel insurance, to avoid such expenses and ensure you have the right medical support, if required.

The policy will provide many other benefits.  Just be aware that it won’t pick up any losses incurred at one of Las Vegas’s famous gambling tables. Do, however, note the wedding add-on to your insurance that we offer.  It could be just the extra protection you need, if your trip to Vegas is underpinned by romantic wedding intentions.
